As Katie’s intro to the genre draws you in, each of the tracks has been annotated to provide background, as she recalls her BBC TV series “I Can Go for That: The Smooth World of Yacht Rock”. For this connoisseurs’ collection, Katie has gathered 72(on CD) and 24(on LP) of the smartest, deepest cuts in the Yacht canon, along with classic tracks from the supremos of smooth. In compiling this set, her choices reflect compatibility of vibes, a musical kinship across the era, and a whiff of adults-only ennui.
