Released in 2002, Primal Scream’s eighth album Evil Heat is a dark, experimental mix of krautrock, electro-punk, and abrasive industrial rock. The album features an eclectic roster of guests, including My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields, Jim Reid of the Jesus and Mary Chain, and a controversial duet on “Some Velvet Morning” with Kate Moss. Robert Plant also contributes bluesy harmonica to “The Lord is My Shotgun”. Newly mastered under the supervision of Bobby Gillespie and Andrew Innes by Matt Colton at Metropolis Studios, London, these comprehensive releases create the definitive document of Primal Scream’s revolutionary sonic experiments recorded in their ‘bunker studio’ between the years of 1997-2002.
